After the Disorder, monsters, hideous beasts, unholy mixtures of animal and human species were created by the gods to torment rebellious humanity. But, however impious and deformed these crosses were, most of these beasts still retained the happiness of having a minimally ordered conformation.
But not even that grace was bestowed on the Chaos Beast.
Legends say that the Chaos Beast was once, in a forgotten past, a man. What offense he would have done to a god, to be transformed into such a terrible creature, is something that has been lost in time, and which only speculation can suppose.
It is a beast with a myriad of mouths, all eternally open and hungry, yearning to put its sharp teeth into action. It has clawed arms, but no legs that allow it to move out of place. It resembles a tree, it does not have branches, but rather tentacles like limbs, which coil like a python on unsuspecting passersby, crushing every bone in its body. Cut off one of its tentacles, and two more will grow in its place. It is a rapidly regenerating monster, if regeneration is the proper word: every sword thrust, every spear thrust, every wound, instead of taking place to destroy its bestiality, works like a furrow in the earth. The iron of the blades are like plows in the field, making room for the monstrosity to grow and flourish, increasing more and more the anger that shelters in the core of that terrible creature.
