When the gods mixed the blood of men and beasts after the Disorder, creating the monsters, they created entire races of hybrids. Creatures with human virtues and vices allying with the strength and fury of the beasts. And among these races, one of the most feared are the dragonborn.
Altair is a warrior of that race. Because he is half dragon, he has an intense flame inside him; his innards ignite, and his throat spews a violent, incendiary fire. As a half man, he harbors fury and rancor in his heart. Being half dragon, he has the thick scaly skin and explosive strength of reptiles; for being half man, he possesses the mastery of the science of the fight, of the swords, of the armor.
With his heavy shield, his great sword, his plate armor—which over the stiff leather makes his flesh practically impenetrable—he is a great warrior; with his power to cast fire, he is a force of nature.
