Manes are the lowest form of demon, formed when the most depraved and evil mortals end up in the Abyss when they die.
They are small of stature, but fat and bloated, crawling with flies and maggots. Foul fluids constantly drip from their bodies and most of them are mindless, except distant memories that torture them with certain knowledge that they were once something more than sacks of pallid flesh.
Manes roam in packs and hordes, attacking their enemies like walls of horrid meat.
